How do you feel in this exact moment?
I hope the answer is nothing less than AMAZING…
But if not, don’t worry…
I’ll tell you a secret you can use to reverse engineer a good mood any day.
So , as weird as it sounds…
Your current level of happiness is regulated by four chemicals found in your brain.
And the more you have of each of these chemicals…
The happier you feel.
Crazy, right?
So let’s break these four chemicals down a bit further.
The first is Dopamine.
We call this the “reward hormone”.
Not only is it important for feeling happy…
It also helps our performance with focus, concentration, and sleep.
Dopamine is released after your brain achieves any goal…
No matter how small.
If you want an instant hit of happy …
Set a goal you can achieve in the next 5 min…
Like drinking two cups of water…
And see how you feel when you complete it in the timeframe.
Achieving more goals on a daily basis strengthens the neuropathways in your brain so you produce more dopamine each time you hit a goal…
(and this might explain why it feels so good to be in Best of You)!
So a quick review: dopamine = reward hormone.
Now let’s move on to the next one.
The second one is Oxytocin.
Many people know this as the “love hormone”.
Producing this increases feelings of empathy and trust with your loved ones…
And it also reduces your levels of stress and anxiety.
You can get oxytocin in a number of ways…
By holding hands and cuddling with people you like…
Giving head scratches to dogs and cats…
Or listening to music.
So Oxytocin = love hormone.
Plus it’s a pretty simple way to lower stress levels.

But let’s move on to number three.
The third one is Serotonin.
You know the winter blues…
Also known as seasonal depression?
When we don’t get enough sun…
Our levels of serotonin drop.
This is also why we tend to feel happier after spending a day in the sun at the beach or pool.
But there’s one key part about serotonin…
And you probably heard me mention it before…
90% of it is formed in your gut.
If you have a healthy gut…
You’ll have loads of serotonin…
And this is why nutrition is SO foundational to our mental and emotional health.
Following the Best of You protocol…
(staying away from inflammatory foods, eating a pound of veggies every day, etc.)…
Keeps you healthy and happy from the inside out.
Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin. There is one final one left to discuss.
The fourth one is Endorphins.
People say endorphins are the body’s natural pain killers…
So it’s no wonder they make us happy.
Endorphins can be produced in seemingly random ways…
Like eating spicy foods or doing something a little scary like watching thrillers.
One powerful way to boost them is getting a workout in…
Even if it’s quick (exercise always makes us feel good afterwards, doesn’t it?)
And when I was putting this together , I realized something else about the Best of You program.
So many non-negotiables I’ve set in the protocol support the production of three or four of these chemicals at once…
Let me give you an example.
I always say to get 10,000 steps in every day, and it’s one of the first non-negotiables Best of You members agree to when they start the program.
And amazingly, the simple act of doing this boosts ALL FOUR of these chemicals at once when you break it down:
That’s all four of them.
This single, non-negotiable rule packs so many benefits…
It’s not hard to see why Best of You is transformational.
I often hear members say they feel so satisfied with their lives after being in the program (all else being equal)…
And now there’s a scientific reason why.
So just remember …
When you’re following the protocols in Best of You…
You’re doing much more than influencing the way you look on the outside.
You are creating permanent, positive changes in your brain…
Boosting your well-being emotionally, physically, and mentally…
And truly allowing your inner beauty and happiness to shine through so you live a fulfilling life.
100% WORTH IT!
And so for the rest of your day…
Be mindful of the decisions you make.
The benefits DO compound…
So that’s why it’s so important to keep going even when it’s tough.
My hope is that together, we are all equipped with the best tools to take care of ourselves…
And live long, healthy, happy lives.
