Why your health is not your doctor’s problem

When your body isn’t operating at peak performance, lots of people are able to suck it up because it doesn’t really bother them.
That is, until the issue reaches a critical tipping point and becomes more serious.
It is usually at this point when most people relent and say, “okay, fine, I’ll see a doctor.”
This is because we were taught doctors have expertise to diagnose and power to prescribe medications to fix these issues.
But I want to ask you — what about before illness? What’s keeping you healthy?
And to this, many people don’t really know.
Prevention is a lot harder to think about, because we don’t know how each tiny decision we make throughout our day can accumulate into a health problem until it’s too late.
That’s the problem.
I know people around my parent’s age who carry old-school mentality…
They don’t really think about what they eat, or much they move…
They’re not actively thinking of ways they can take care of their health…
Yet when they show up at the doctor’s office, they expect the doctor to be able to prescribe a simple pill to bring them back to health.
They tend to think think it’s the doctor’s problem to solve, when 50% of their symptoms could be directly controlled by healthy lifestyle habits.
As you well know, a pill doesn’t make the underlying problem go away, and it only masks the symptoms… while you take it.
That’s why so many people have perpetual medications, and they can never stop taking them otherwise their problems will come back.
Taking good care of yourself requires more than just taking a pill, and that’s why your health is not really your doctor’s problem.
The only way to make treat the root cause is to reverse your health from the inside out — making consistent, healthy choices daily.
Just remember that MD stands for doctor of medicine, not doctor of health and wellness.
So while a one-time ailment might be your doctor’s problem, for which they can provide prescriptions for…
Chronic issues about your health and wellness are not things that you can take a magical pill for.
These things are in your hands, and your fate is up to you.
Just something to think about…
