Today I want to tell you a short story which I think makes VERY clear why Best of You is different from 99% of advice given by young fitness coaches today.
Some people just can’t believe my members’ before/after photos…
(skeptics always think they’re two different people or we use photoshop)…
So I want to explain exactly how I get women to achieve these insane transformations.
The story starts with two smart and ambitious women named Jen and Paula.
They were two acquaintances who…
Very coincidentally…
Signed up for a consultation with the same fitness coach less than a week apart from each other.
Not only were Jen and Paula the exact same age and height…
But they were also about the same in body size/weight as well.
So the fitness coach — let’s call him Mike — said “perfect!” and did what many do…
He plugged their numbers into a calculator and handed them both a piece of paper with similar instructions:
“To lose weight, exercise 5-6 days a week and eat 1400 calories per day, 30% from protein, 50% from carbs, and 20% from fat.”
Jen and Paula said thank you to Mike and went off on their own to do exactly that.
Both of them followed Mike’s every word for weeks and weeks…
With very few alterations because they were both determined to hit their goals.
Three months went by.
Paula ran into Jen at the gym one day…
And this was the first time she saw Jen since their consults.
What happened next was crazy.
Paula said, “Jen, you look great!”
Then asked, “what have you been doing??”
Admittedly, Jen looked amazing.
She didn’t have puffiness around her cheeks anymore…
You could see definition beginning to show in her upper arms…
And she looked to have lost a few dress sizes.
At first, Jen smiled and thanked Paula for the compliment.
But then she looked back, puzzled.
“What do you mean?” Jen asked. “I just followed Mike’s advice.”
And then both women became VERY confused…
Because Paula replied, “I followed Mike’s advice too…”
You see… while Jen lost around 15 pounds and looked completely different…
Paula stayed exactly the same.
In fact, the scale said she GAINED three pounds!!!
How is this possible…
If both women followed Mike’s advice with almost no cheats?
Well , it’s because some people may have hormonal imbalances causing their metabolisms to process food differently…
Or even cause their metabolisms to be slower or faster.
By how much?
According to the director of the metabolism lab at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University…
This can be by as much as 10 percent of your resting metabolic rate
So, while Jen and Paula’s numbers said they should’ve lost weight on 1400 calories a day…
Paula could’ve had estrogen dominance…
Which might’ve caused her metabolism to be off.
I talk a lot about estrogen dominance because many women have it AND it promotes fat storage…
Causes hormonal weight gain…
Or makes it really hard to lose weight.
But women’s bodies are a very delicate balance of many hormones…
And estrogen is just one of many hormones that could fall out of balance.
The solution for Paula wouldn’t be to cut her calories even more…
Because that wouldn’t solve the underlying problems with her weight.
A better approach would be to bring her hormones into balance with nourishing foods and proper nutrition.
Ever notice how I almost never have members take out their calculators to figure out their numbers??
Our health is so much more than just limiting our calorie intake!
Nutrition can get very, very, specific…
I’m not just talking about protein vs. carbs vs. fat…

It would be a real breakthrough for her to achieve many of her initial health goals and set her up for life.
