Why Cardio Alone Won’t Help You Lose Weight

It’s easy to think that doing cardio is the key to losing weight.

But there’s something even better: strength training.

Many people shy away from lifting weights because they worry it will make them bulky.

However, it can actually help you lose weight faster.

Here’s why.

Strength training builds muscle.

And muscle burns more calories than fat, even when you’re not working out.

That means you can lose weight even while resting or sleeping.

Pretty cool, right?

When you lift weights, you also boost your metabolism.

A higher metabolism means your body burns more calories all day long.

This is a big help for weight loss.

Another great thing about strength training is that it changes your body shape.

Even if the scale doesn’t change much, you’ll look leaner and fitter.

This is because muscle is denser than fat, taking up less space in your body.

So, how do you start?

You don’t need a gym or fancy equipment.

Simple exercises like squats, lunges, and push-ups are perfect.

If you have some dumbbells, great!

If not, you can use items at home like water bottles or cans.

Aim to do strength training two to three times a week.

Mix it up to keep it fun and interesting.

You might already do cardio, and that’s fantastic.

But mix in some strength training, and you’ll see even better results.

Remember, it’s not about lifting the heaviest weights.

It’s about focusing on good form and consistency.

Every small step counts.

Before you know it, you’ll see and feel the difference.

Get started today and enjoy the amazing benefits of strength training!

P.S. If you want a more structured program to help you with your transformation (and gain muscle while losing fat), let’s have a conversation and see if Best of You is the missing piece in your transformation puzzle.
