Have you ever noticed the correlation between your morning routine and how you look and feel?
When I had a poor morning routine, I was unproductive throughout the day….
Stressed out…
And seemed to always be behind with my work.
But ever since improving my morning routine…
EVERYTHING else improved too.
I won’t lie… building a morning routine has not been easy…
But it has definitely been worth it.
I built a morning routine structured around “Easy Wins”…
And this is when I have the most energy and look and feel the best.
The right routine will set you up to WIN your day, week, even month!
It’s not BS.
Here’s the routine that’s served me best…
1) No phone last hour of the day – I believe your morning routine is either won or lost based on what you do in the LAST hour of the previous day. No technology allows my brain to unwind and prompts DEEPER sleep. And when you are well rested, you’re better able to make smart choices when it comes to your nutrition.
2) 6AM wake up time – This is a non negotiable from Monday to Friday. The key here is to NOT hit the snooze button. If you do, it’s basically saying those few extra minutes of horrible sleep are more important than your goals. Plus, I give myself about 30 minutes before breakfast after I wake up so my body is able to reset and I’m better able to receive the nutrients.
3) Easy Wins – The first hour of my day consists of INTENTIONALLY setting the tone for the rest of the day. About 6:30a, I’ll eat a nutritious breakfast (including my special Nutrilixir), drink a cup of coffee while I make lunches and breakfast for the kids, and do a short meditation. I then set my intentions for the workday.
This is all before I wake up my kids and help get them ready.
I then drive them to school about 7:45a and then head to the gym around 8a to complete my daily workout.
My time at the gym is non-negotiable because I always feel so much better after my workout since I’m not trying to squeeze it in later in the day.
Then, I head home to start my work day.
What does this mean?
Within the first few hours of the day I’ve accomplished some easy wins, got my workout in, helped my family and started work on my business.
Now imagine how much better the rest of the day goes.
Imagine that for your own life.
This routine reminds me that I’m in control and have full ownership of my success.
If you don’t have a morning routine, you can definitely try mine.
Once you get it going, you’ll never look back and you’ll see how much more you’re able to accomplish throughout the day because you started out strong.
